![]() Windsurfing on Boavista Island The addition of a brand new international airport has really sent interest in the island rocketing, cutting down on the journey time after doing away with the inter-island shuttle service that previously operated.
Boa Vista is the most easterly of all the Cape Verdean islands and boasts over 55km of white sands and crystal waters. It is also a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles and a feeding ground for humpback whales and dolphins, with average temperatures ranging from 24C in January and February to 29C in September. Prices for properties on the island are still reasonable considering that the focus is only just beginning to switch from the neighbouring island of Sal, and the fact that direct flights don’t begin until July. Adrian Lillywhite, managing director of Cape Verde Property Ltd said: “Purchasing a property off-plan in Boa Vista is a great investment. As tourist numbers continue to rise (on average 28 per cent in the last five years, 280,000 foreign visitors in 2006), so too has the demand for high quality beachfront accommodation. Now is the time to invest in this magical island which has 60 per cent of all of Cape Verde’s beaches, before the secret gets out.” If you are thinking about investing in Boa Vista, it’s worth checking out three new developments; Sabi Sands near Rochinha, Por do Sol 2 on Cabral Beach and Creola Sands, also on Cabral Beach. Prices start from £62,430, £66,096, and £57,105 respectively, depending on the type of property you have in mind. |
