Foreign investment 'boosts emerging property markets' Print E-mail
Those hoping to identify up-and-coming property markets might want to pay attention to countries attracting investment from financial institutions, one expert has claimed

Simon Walker, sales director for Off Plan Property, explained that a large amount of foreign capital flowing in to a country is usually a good sign for anyone who owns property there and is something investors look for when making a purchasing decision.

He said: "They like to follow the big boys around as far as foreign investment into the country, infrastructure, commerce etc … because obviously that fires the property industry."

Walker also said that such a pattern had been seen in several countries shortly before they became members of the EU.

The most recent countries to join the EU were Bulgaria and Romania, which became members on January 1st 2007.

Croatia, Turkey and Macedonia all hope to become part of the EU in coming years.
