More than two million Britons consider working overseas Print E-mail

New research indicates that 2.1 million Britons plan to get away from the troubled economy and work overseas in the next 12 months.
In addition, 20 million people claim to have friends or family working abroad, and 1.8 million state they periodically travelled to friends and family abroad on matters relating to business.
The survey by Cater Allen has found that one in five Britons have already made money by living and working abroad. The same number is considering the move over the next 12 months, with men twice as likely to do so than women.
As well as being able to work anywhere within the EU without a visa, the exodus may be helped by the fact that a large number of Britons already have ties abroad, with 20.3 million people (44 per cent) stating that they had friends living and working overseas and 21.7 million (47 per cent) saying that they had family abroad.
